This food-orientated gastro pub is community owned and understandably community focused with local history displays. Local artists are often featured on the walls alongside racing silks that give the pub, formerly known as the Wheatsheaf, its name. There is a bar with three hand pumps, although normally only 1 real ale is available. As well as limited seating at the bar there are several rooms and restaurant area given over to dining. The food is very high quality and features locally sourced ingredients. The regular themed food nights are worth looking out for. Dog & walker friendly.
